## Welcome to A Little Bit. Hi, I'm Terry. This is my [[101 Portfolio TOC|design portfolio]] and digital garden. It’s part design portfolio, part [[201 Commonplace Book TOC|commonplace book]], part who-I-am-as-a-person. I am a designer for a small private college east of Los Angeles. If I had to describe myself in a few words, I’d say I am open-minded, independent, calm, and curious. What I enjoy most is sense-making. I like creating meaning and layering metaphors in my work. I like exploring how visual systems can embody complex ideas and connect people to larger narratives. I enjoy researching and thinking. I like working through the “how” and the “why”, and the sudden clarity that comes after an idea falls into place. This site doesn't look like a typical design website. While I have examples of my work, what I really want to share here is how I think. My process, reasoning, and decision-making are just as important to me as the final designs themselves. When I'm not designer-ing, I'm a father and someone with many [[010 Hobbies TOC|hobbies]]. On any given day, I might be [[011 Reading List|reading books]] about design, exploring [[014 Video Games|The Lands Between]], [[013 Knitting Projects|knitting]] the nth pair of socks, or learning Japanese (こんにちは！👋ご覧いただきありがとうございます). There’s more, but you get the picture. You'll also find my adventures in [[015 Solo Journaling TOC|solo journaling RPGs]]. If you promise not to laugh, I'll promise not to be embarrassed.
